Grateful Mini Icon Card

The new stamp set and die bundle from Close to My Heart is my new favorite thing. I have been having so much fun playing with it. There are so many things a crafter can do with this bundle. For this card I wanted to use as many of the cute little icons as possible from the Fall themed stamp set.

A Few Tips…

To give the card a homespun autumn feel I opted for kraft paper as the card base topped with a dark orange. I used Stazon Crimson to stamp the images and tie the card together. Twine was the perfect accent with a little tag I made from left over scrap paper. The red smears are the result of Dew Drops that went wrong. Usually I can scrap those off if I place them in the wrong spot, but this time they smeared. Instead of tossing the tag I just smeared on some more!

Moral of the card: If you make a mistake, just do it a few more times and make it a feature 🙂

Christmas In July — Ombre

I found a cute stamp set and matching die set on the Picket Fence Studio website. It stumped me when at first. I did not know how to incorporate the die and sentiment because they are both large and do not fit on a standard card front. So, I created this:

I created an ombre effect in green using Distress Oxide ink and a little mist of water. The image on the die cut was stamped in Candy Apple red Distress Oxide ink. I embossed with clear embossing powder. Pop dots were used to adhere to the card front. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold. To make sure the gold only embossed on the sentiment I ran some cornstarch over the sentiment spot before I embossed it. It was still looking a little on the boring side. I finished it off with a few Nuvo drops in gold.

Back to Basics: How to Create A Card

To create this card I went back to the basics with embossing and layering. The floral pattern on the coffee cub is just perfect for spring! I wanted to showcase it and used color pencils to make it pop. To see how I created this card please check out my video:

Shiny Gift Bags and Butterflies!

I absolutely love Rinea Foiled paper because it can be used not only in papercrafting, but also home decor! This month I created a bunch of layered butterflies and gift bags for the Rinea channel.

Hello Beautiful!

The Hello Beautiful kit by The Fairy Tale club is the perfect compliment to my daughter’s Homecoming. Everything from trying on dresses for the dance to the big night goes with this kit! I actually ordered this separately because I had the perfect pictures for it. Once it arrived and I saw all the cute little deer I knew I had even more uses for it! Check out what I was able to create with it!

Everyday Magic

The last weekend of summer break we went up north to escape the heat and spend one last day together before school resumed. One of our stops was at the Deer Farm.

Fairest of Them All

I have mentioned a few times that my daughter is like Snow White in that she communicates with animals like no other. The deer were following her everywhere. It could be because she had food, but we all had food for them. They just liked her best.

True Beauty

Ironically I was having so much fun documenting our trip to the Deer Farm that I forgot about the reason I purchased the kit! Once it dawned on me I created two pages. The first is of my daughter trying on dresses (goofy and all!).

Beautiful Life!

I did not know how I was going to get all of these photos on the same page, but I knew I needed too! I just started layering and they all came together.

My Favorite Car

Funny and heart warming story about this one. I took a close up of the journaling for you to read. The sassy sayings are from Ink Road Stamps — Sass Master set. If you order anything using the link I just provided you will get 15% off your total!

Final Touchs

I really do not add much to these kits by The Fairytale Club. They can be a bit busy, so I always have coordinating card stock. I ink the edges a lot and use pop dots to amp up the style. I almost always add Crystal Drops to everything that comes out of my craft room that is paper related. Here are my top 12 picks!
