Fall Ombre’

Close to my Heart released an awesome set of stamps that I thought would look fantastic with an ombre effect.

I started with the lightest 1 inch by inch ink pad and worked my way down the stamp to the darkest making sure I saturated the stamp as to not dry out.

For the embellishments I took three buttons and filled them with Nuvo dew drops.

Such a fun card to make and give!

Hi!

As you may know, I am committed to creating Fall cards from things I already own. I am embarressed to admit this, but I have had this gorgeous embossing folder in my stash for a few years and have not ever used it — until now! I knew it would be lovely with Rinea Foiled Paper .

It embossed perfectly! I love how crisp and shiny the leaves embossed.

I die cut this sweet little owl and ran a permanent ink pad over him and backed him to a green piece of pattern paper.

I really enjoy using Rinea because it is sturdy, lightweight and adds something unique to cards.

Giving Thanks for the Simple Things

I pulled out a wooden mounted Stampin’ Up set to create these two cards. I used distress markers on the images to give them a watercolor look. I tend to not ever have enough Thanksgiving cards on hand to mail out even though they are some of my favorite to make!

For the edge of the tag I embossed it in Penny and stamped leaves the same color.

I inked the edges of the stamped sentiment and used pop dots to give it a little more dimension.

For this card I stamped directly on a kraft tag and colored it in with distress markers that I went over with a water loaded paint brush.

 I added a few Nuvo drops…..

The Fall epoxy is actually a clip for a planner that I decided would be perfect for this card.

When using distress markers try scribbling on a glass mat and picking up the color with a wet paint brush to color with. The results are quite lovely and it stretches how to use them.
