The new stamp set and die bundle from Close to My Heart is my new favorite thing. I have been having so much fun playing with it. There are so many things a crafter can do with this bundle. For this card I wanted to use as many of the cute little icons as possible from the Fall themed stamp set.
A Few Tips…
To give the card a homespun autumn feel I opted for kraft paper as the card base topped with a dark orange. I used Stazon Crimson to stamp the images and tie the card together. Twine was the perfect accent with a little tag I made from left over scrap paper. The red smears are the result of Dew Drops that went wrong. Usually I can scrap those off if I place them in the wrong spot, but this time they smeared. Instead of tossing the tag I just smeared on some more!
Moral of the card: If you make a mistake, just do it a few more times and make it a feature 🙂
I am super excited to share with you two of the new Joy Clair releases! I created a Bible art piece with one and a card wit the other. I also made two ATC with them as well!
Instead of using the new Hope Stamp Set as a way to express hope, I used it as a way to show strength and take on a warrior attitude. I have Celiac Disease. For years I prayed that God would heal me even though I did not know what I had. Once I got the diagnosis and avoided gluten the symptoms pretty much disappeared. Though my body did grow weary my soul did not – hence the saying and verse!
For the ATC I portrayed a warrior and thought of all of my fellow sisters who struggle with cancer and other diseases.
I found the “We Can Do It” card set in Washington DC last simmer. I gessoed the base and went over it with a wet paint brush and wiped the face clean. Once it was dry I stamped my image and words.
Mermaid at Heart
This might be my favorite new release set! The tail is a perfect sassy flirt and the sayings coordinate beautifully. For the card, I picked up some specialty paper at my local craft store and embossed it. I simply stamped the sentiment on another sheet and layered it. For the tail, I embossed it in black and used watercolor markers to shade it in. I made it shiny with Glossy accents!
I mimicked the process on the ATC, just working on a smaller scale.
Make sure you check out the shop for all the new releases and hop and check out what the other designers did with different stamp sets!
I have a confession to make. I am a dog person. I am not a cat person. However, I can’t get enough of this stamp set! I’m over on Brutus Monroe with this tag and how to make it using a masking technique. Please stop by!
I have some fun things to share with you! Brutus Monroe has new releases today! I was able to play with all the new stamps and dies! Yes! There are now coordinating dies with stamps! This release Brutus Monroe came out with a snow globe die. This is exciting because eventually there will be a snow globe for each state and some countries! The snow globe stamps are the same size, so the die will fit all of them. So far I have the San Francisco snow globe (where I grew up — SF Bay Area) and the Las Vegas snow globe (new release). I love these because like the Starbucks destination mug, when you visit a city eventually you will be able to purchase the snow globe for it. You can make cards with them, or luggage tags! You could even make ornaments out of them for Christmas. Make a tag out of them and put them on a gift. The possibilities are endless! The other new die is for the Owl set! I have created some fun samples using all of the new releases. Check them out and then go over to the Brutus Monroe site and poke around 😉
A few of these will be on The Brutus Monroe Blog in June! Make sure to check it every Sunday 🙂
Guess what came? My Rinea DT box! I made the 2017 – 2018 DT and I am super excited! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner at Creativation 2017. I introduced them to my favorite local German restaurant. This company has a special place in my heart because it was born out of a childhood memory and tradition that took place in Germany. I was an exchange student my first year of college in 1993 – 1994 in Germany. I remebered this foiled paper and the stars at Christmas.
