Kiss Me I’m Irish Pop Up Box

The leprechaun from the Lucky Clover Joy Clair set looks adorable, but naughty. I knew that I wanted to create something of a surprise with it.

From the outside it looks like a pretty little box, but on the inside…

This little guy pops out! Isn’t it fun? Here is now I created this pop up box.

Material:

The box is just an old jewelry box I have hung on to for years. The pattern paper is from a Christmas line as well as the gold ribbon. I ended up painting the box over with an artichoke color. The green pictured was a bit to bright. I never used the stickles, but had them out just in case.

Directions:

First layer on some Gesso as to prime the box and paint it.

Using a gold paint dry brush a flower just enough to add highlights.

As the paint dries, color in the stamped images and cut them out.

Once the box is dry add the rainbow and sentiment in the lid.

To create the springs cut two strips of card stock and according fold every 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

Adhere to box and leprechaun with glue dots.

Now your box is ready to be given away!

St Paddy Whimsical Gate Card

I have recently joined the Joy Clair Design Team and could not be more excited to be part of such an amazing company! If you are not familiar with Joy Clair check out their blog and website. The stamps they create are my perfect match. They have everything from Biblical stamps to sassy stamps! Here is my first post I did for their blog on creating a gate card:

The Lucky Charm stamp set is perfect to create a whimsical card for St Patrick’s Day! My favorite style is childlike and colorful. When I saw this stamp set the rainbow screamed to me that it needed to be a handle on a card. Using the gate fold I made this card:

JC3

Directions:

To create this card you will need alcohol markers, fast drying waterproof ink, Nuvo Dew Drops, green cardstock, embossing ink and embossing powder.

First determine the size of the card and score two lines to create a gate. This is a 4.25 by 5.5 card. It is scored at the 2 1/8 line, flipped and scored again. The inside measures 4.25.

Set the card base aside. Using embossing ink, stamp the clovers randomly on a piece of cardstock cut down .5 inches smaller on each side of card base. Heat set it and cut down the middle. Carefully attach to the front of the gate card.

For the rainbow, stamp the image with waterproof ink. Carefully color in the sections with puffy paint or dew drops. Modeling paste is a great way to make a cloud! Just tap it on making sure there are lots of rises and add a little glitter. Set aside to dry completely.

For the Leprechaun, shading him in with markers or colored pencils is the perfect touch.

To assemble the card, attach the rainbow coming off the edge of one side of the gate. A button is a perfect accent! Ground the leprechaun on a piece of solid card stock with pop dots. Finish off the card with a few dots of Nuvo Drops. Don’t forget to add a sentiment!
