Grateful Mini Icon Card

The new stamp set and die bundle from Close to My Heart is my new favorite thing. I have been having so much fun playing with it. There are so many things a crafter can do with this bundle. For this card I wanted to use as many of the cute little icons as possible from the Fall themed stamp set.

A Few Tips…

To give the card a homespun autumn feel I opted for kraft paper as the card base topped with a dark orange. I used Stazon Crimson to stamp the images and tie the card together. Twine was the perfect accent with a little tag I made from left over scrap paper. The red smears are the result of Dew Drops that went wrong. Usually I can scrap those off if I place them in the wrong spot, but this time they smeared. Instead of tossing the tag I just smeared on some more!

Moral of the card: If you make a mistake, just do it a few more times and make it a feature ūüôā

Magical Theater Presents the Love Princess

Magical Theater, by Rita Barakat, is the base for creating the Love Princess. It is a downloadable book full of whimsy and magic. This is a wonderful art resource to have on your hard drive. Not only are there tips and directions on creating your own paper dolls, there are also a few scenes completed. For this project I used things created in the book and added the finishing touches.

The base is a piece of cardboard from a package I received in the mail. Mod Podge was used to seal and attach the scene to the cardboard. For the princess I used a foam board as her base to give her structure and dimension.

The finishing touches on the piece were a mix of glitter glue, Nuvo Dew Drops and gems from the dollar store.

I used Glitter Mod Podge for the Princess because she needs to shine! Bits of extra trim from my stash was used along the edges.

It is okay to borrow other people’s creativity to spark your own. Or, perhaps like me you want to create something from the heart, but are limited on time. The Magical Theater is a great resource to have!

Here is another piece I created using it.

Make A Tote with Deco Fabric Glitter Pens!

When I attended Creativation 2018 I was able to get my hands on some fabulous goodies to play with. I absolutely love the Glitter Fabric Pens! Here is how I made this great bag!
To start the fabric paint flow in each pen I had to shake it and press the tip down.
I lifted it ever so often just to check and once I saw the pigment to the tip I knew it was time to color!
Every so often I had to shake the pen to get more paint. I colored one flower in and then did another flower in a different color. This seemed to allow  the paint some time to nap after working so hard! I added a few crystals to each flower using Supertite Instant Glue
Once The gems were applied I outlined each flowers Nuvo Dew Drops.
I used coordinating colors on each flower:

I love how it turned out!
