Kid You’ll Move Mountains!

My sweet little nephew has his third birthday coming up. I want to get him my favorite children’s book “Oh The Places You Will Go!” for his birthday. Joy Clair has a stamp set that matches perfectly and I knew I needed to create a card for him using it. To make it personal I added a few baby pictures I took of him.

The scan in cut trimmed out the images after I colored them in with copic markers. Here are two videos on how this card came together. The first is on how I created the paper.

The next video is how to create this card using the handmade paper created in the last video.

This is going to be a great gift because of how perfectly coordinated it is! I have a feeling the card and book are going to be treasured.

You are Mermazing!

Temperatures should be warming up soon and I am dreaming of summer! In anticipation of warmer months I created a sweet little Mermaid card to give away to one of you 🙂

This card was a lot of fun to make! I used the fin background stamp from Joy Clair and embossed it with Rita Barakat Mermaid Fin Powder. I added colorburst to the fins. For the image I used a sentiment from a Pink and Main set and stamped it with this Rita Barakat stamp. Here is the video:

I want to give this card away to one of you! All you need to do is tell me in the comments what your favorite part of summer is! I will randomly pick a winner and announce on April 1st.

You Make me Horn-y

Joy Clair has amazing stamps that are being released. The “I Think You’re S’Whale” has snarky and silly sentiments as well as cute images. For this card I chose to use the Narwhal because I really wanted an excuse to stamp “You Make me Horn-y”.

To create this card I laid out a few different shade of blue Colorburst. I misted watercolor paper first with water. By misting it before sprinkling the color it allows the powder to stay on the paper. After the Colorburst was sprinkled I sprayed it with water again until the color and consistency was satisfactory.

I stamped the narwhal on a white piece of card-stock and colored him in with alcohol markers, He was trimmed out and paced on the cards with pop dots. a few dots of clear Nuvo dots completed him.

The stamp set includes bubbles and I stamped those in white. I added a little clear Nuvo Glaze on them and finished the card off with random placement of Nuvo drops.

This is a great card to give a loved one to make them smile. What do you like better a narwhal or whale? Answer in the comments!

Thankful for You!

Have you ever started creating something and you were not sure how it would turn out? You just kinda went for it and hoped for the best? That is exactly what I did on this card. Pretty much everything I used is from Brutus Monroe with the exception of the Autumn Red Nuvo Drops

I first used a gorgeous background stamps with clear embossing ink to stamp the image (I did this on the leaves as well) and embossed with Penny Embossing poweder (Gilded Gold on the leaves). I wanted the Colorburst to pool and separate in the leaves so I made sure to sprinkle in the leaves and misted water in those spots.

I did the same for the larger leaves. Once they dried I cut them out. They bent slightly which I liked because it made them more realistic. I used pop dots to adhere to the card base.

This card has been my favorite card I have made for Fall. It is so ironic how something so unpredictable and experimental can turn out so beautiful!

Witch Please….

When I saw this stamp set last year I knew I had to have it! Witch Please…. is a Brutus Monroe Stamp Set that is probably one of the Halloween favorite with that company. It is perfect for those that have a sarcastic and/or sassy personality.

To create this card I took a piece of mixed media cardstock and covered it with Colorburst. As that dried I die cut two circles and stamped my image along with the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock.

This card is going to go through the mail, so I made it flat. I added some little dew drops for a touch of dimension.

Sometimes you just have to get a little messy 🙂
