National Coffee Day Blog Hop

Today is a wonderful day — a day to drink coffee! Any excuse to drink coffee is a good reason, right? In celebration of National Coffee Day the Joy Clair Designers have gotten together to host a wonderful hop for you revolving around coffee. Here is my card I created for this glorious day!

How To Create It

I used three Joy Clair Stamp Sets to create this card. I first embossed the Wood Background stamp on my cad base with copper embossing powder and misted it with Antique Linen Distress Ink Spray. To create the tag I used the same method with Broken Brick Background. The title, coffee cup and coffee bean strip were stamped from the Coffee Love set.

How To Use a Cut File With a Scan N Cut

Yesterday I was on the Joy Clair website sharing how to use a cut file with a Scan N Cut. I know there is a way to directly link the file into my machine, but I am techno challenge and don’t have the patience or desire to figure it out. This is for all of you that, like me, want to stay in our comfort zone while crafting!

Betz Golden is going to show us how we can use Cut Files with a Scan N Cut using a file from the Cutting Cafe! With the end of the school year fast approaching, this is a great project for a teacher.

For each of these cards I used scraps from my stash and buttons I had purchased on sale at Joann’s that I forgot I had. To create the cards, I downloaded the cut fie from The Cutting Cafe and printed it. I scanned the printed copy into my Scan-n Cut and saved it. I used the saved file to cut the elements of each of the cards and assembled. Here is the tutorial:

I also included the list of supplies in the video description for your convenience as well as here:

These cards were a lot of fun! Adding the glaze to each coffee cup really set it off.

Cold Brew Coffee

In the afternoon I hit a low and need a pick me up. Today I am sharing with you how to make a delicious cold brew coffee.

As crafters we usually have something we are sipping on as we create. It can range between water to wine. However, we all have our stand by and this is mine! Sometimes to kick it up a notch I will carefully pour some chocolate syrup around the inside of the cup, add my cold brew and top it off with 2 ounces of vodka! Regardless of what is added to it: vanilla, a scoop of ice cream or cinnamon — this is so yummy!¬†
Cold Brew Coffee
1 small can Ground Espresso
1 can Sweet and Condensed Milk

1 can Coconut Milk (make sure it is coconut milk and not oil or water)

–Add Espresso to a pitcher of water (half gallon)
— Place in refrigerator for 24 hours
–Strain grounds out in a clean pitcher
–remove solid from Coconut milk (set it aside and use it in sweet potatoes later!)
— dump the cans of milk in
–whisk until blended
–serve over ice

Please check out my video on how to make this drink. I give an indepth explanation and show how to make it . You can watch it here:
