It’s A Bootiful Shaker!

Okay, so the sentiment does not exactly match the card front, but it fit perfectly. I just can’t get enough of this CTMH stamp and die set! Today I decided to make another shaker using the shaker guts I bought from Queen and Co a few months ago.

For the backdrop in the shaker I added a piece of pattern paper. The two coordinating patterns really make this card pop with the simplicity of the layout. I did add a little shimmer to the green brew, but you can not see it in the picture.

Trouble Shooting

I did all my stamping and coloring at one time for these cards. Once I was done I realized I did not have any purple Halloween paper, so I made my own. I used Grape Crush (the same color as the sentiment) to swipe over the top of my card base. I did a few swipes to get the correct vibrancy. It looked a little boring just purple,so I spritzed some water on it for drops and towel dried it off.

Thanks Card Made from a Fall Set

I am not quite ready for summer to be over, so when I saw the adorable new Fall Stamp set that is part of the bundle set (two stamp sets and a die) from Close to My Heart I created a colorful simple card.

The Little Things

Though this card is clean and simple I did add a few special touches to make it special. First, I stamped each flower in a different color Catherine Pooler ink. I like this ink for a project like this because I can stamp the same image in different colors several times and not have to worry about transferring the color. Simply stamp off on a scratch piece of paper and move on.

Second, I pop dotted my multiple circle card stock I die cut to add dimension. By choosing black it makes the colors of the flowers really pop!

To finish the card off, a gem was added to the center of each flower in different colors.

It is a little funny that I get my hands on a brand new Fall stamp set and I decided to make a summer card out of it. The next time you have an opportunity to play with a seasonal stamp set and want to make something completely out of the box with it go for it!

Joy Clair New Releases are Live!

I am super excited to share with you two of the new Joy Clair releases! I created a Bible art piece with one and a card wit the other. I also made two ATC with them as well!

Hope

Instead of using the new Hope Stamp Set as a way to express hope, I used it as a way to show strength and take on a warrior attitude. I have Celiac Disease. For years I prayed that God would heal me even though I did not know what I had. Once I got the diagnosis and avoided gluten the symptoms pretty much disappeared. Though my body did grow weary my soul did not – hence the saying and verse!

For the ATC I portrayed a warrior and thought of all of my fellow sisters who struggle with cancer and other diseases.

I found the “We Can Do It” card set in Washington DC last simmer. I gessoed the base and went over it with a wet paint brush and wiped the face clean. Once it was dry I stamped my image and words.

Mermaid at Heart

This might be my favorite new release set! The tail is a perfect sassy flirt and the sayings coordinate beautifully. For the card, I picked up some specialty paper at my local craft store and embossed it. I simply stamped the sentiment on another sheet and layered it. For the tail, I embossed it in black and used watercolor markers to shade it in. I made it shiny with Glossy accents!

I mimicked the process on the ATC, just working on a smaller scale.

Make sure you check out the shop for all the new releases and hop and check out what the other designers did with different stamp sets!

Layering Stencils, Stamps, Ink Oh My!

I have been enthralled with a new designer in the industry — Simon Hurley! He is a fantastic creative who is with Ranger. I don’t know if it is because his images are cute and kinda silly that I like or that he is about my kids age. Regardless, I love his stuff! I am sharing a project I created using two of his stencils and Wendy Vecchi set!

Tutorial

Here is a video on how to create a card with stencils and stamps I did Live on Instagram.

In Conclusion…

I love how the cards turned out!My favorite thing is the Back Splash stencil! I was on the fence about purchasing it, but I am so glad I did. It is going to be well loved! The pattern would look great in my kitchen.

Christmas in July – Layered Stamp

Today I am combining the old with the new! Layering stamps are totally underrated. If you are like me and not a huge fan of coloring these little gems help us create amazing art! Hero Arts has some of the best layering stamps around. The Christmas tree used on this card is one I have had in my stash for awhile. By pairing it with the new Catherine Pooler ink I was able to create a funky bright off the beaten path Christmas card.

The only Christmas product on this card is the stamp set. The pattern paper is Pink and Main Beach Babe. Once again, it is from my stash. To create the sentiment I did not have matching carstock and did not want to use white. SO, I swiped my Catherine Pooler ink over it, let it dry and stamped on top of it.

Personally, I love to use the non traditional Christmas products and things not meant for a season to create a seasonal project. Usually it turns out striking and memorable.
