Fairy Tale Mixed Media Page with Rita Barakat and Art Anthology Hop!

The Rita Barakat and Art Anthology designers have teamed up to bring you an amazing blog hop! All you have to do is jump in, be inspired, and leave a comment to be entered into a fabulous giveaway! I do have a personal request too! I recently started this website because my old blog was not keeping up with what I wanted to provide my readers. I would love it if you would click that “follow” button. It lets the Google Gods know that I am here and helps get it out in cyber space. Plus, I want to have good content and be of value and inspiration to other crafters.

For this hop I created a spread in my art journal! IMG_2698YT

I used the limited edition Rita Barakat Fairy Tale die cuts, paint and stencil from Art Anthology to create this page. I wanted the spread to be cohesive, yet seperate. I did not intend for it to be a “Ying and Yang” type page, but it totally did! We have the timid desperate for attention Little Red Riding Hood on one side:

And the ever so confidant and sassy Jasmine on the other:

IMG_2688I uploaded a video on how I created this page. Watch it come to life here. You will learn a few new tricks on working in an art journal and a sneaky peaky into the one I am currently obsessed with and adding to weekly.

Now, it’s time to get hopping! Make sure you leave a comment first and hop on to the next designer: https://youtu.be/AsewQo-8cSU

CCB Designer Christmas Blog Hop!

I am super excited to be part of the Christmas Blog hop with fabulous CCB designers from around the world. The inspiration is amazing! I always love to see what everyone came up with. Please find the links to the participating blogs at the end of the post. Some are hosting giveaways so make sure you visit each and leave a comment. I created a Pin Up Card with the Holly Jolly Line.

I used Bombshell Stamps from my stash. I was inspired by the sentiments on the Holly Jolly sentiment sheet. This is not the average card. It is a little different in that it is folded to reveal three pin ups. This is how I created the card using one sheet of black 12 by 12 card stock to make this into a 5 by 7.

Cut off a 5 by 12 inch piece of card stock. Trim the other piece to a 7 by 10 inch.

Score the 7 by 10 inch piece in half giving you a base of 5 by 7.

Trim off 1.5 inches from the fron of the card so the back piece peaks through.

Take the 5 by 12 piece and fold it at the 7 inch line.

Place the 5 inch portion of the piece on the back of the card and adhere so it folds like this:

Once you have the card set up the fun part happens — decorating!

I used three different pin ups that I colored with Copic Markers and used my Scan and cut to trim out. This is “Naughty”.

To give the card some more interest I attached this awesome wax like twine in a bow.

This is nice:

I made sure to use a different piece of pattern paper on the inside of the card since it would show through to the front.

Finally, here is Santa Approved complete with wings to show she really is an angel.

The sentiment is from the same sheet, but I added the tattoo style letters.

I wanted this card to be a bit on the edgy side. I am super pleased with how it turned out!

Here is the list of hoppers! Make sure you hop through each blog. I am giving away this card on my blog! Every comment left will be entered to win. Giveaway closes on December 8, 2018!

Around The World Blog Hop

Did you know that today is National Card Making Day? To celebrate Joy Clare is hosting a blog hop that I am super excited to be in. Please hop along with us! The blog links are listed below. Please leave a comment along the way too. We sure to appreciate those  🙂

I am sharing a Halloween card I created with The Web background stamp by Joy Clare and Tim Holtz paper and clip art.

I am a little embarrassed with how quickly this card came together. I think it took me 20 minutes.

I used white pigmented ink and clear embossing powder on the web to make it pop. I added pop dots to the owl and witch and finished the front off with some orange bling from my stash.

I used this sentiment on the inside of the card:

Here is the Blog Hop List! Jump in and have fun.

HUGE Fall Blog Hop!

Hello Friends! Thank you so much for stopping by today. You are in for a treat! Today I am participating in a  MEGA BLOG HOP!!!!!! There are lots of fantastic designers world wide that have come together to showcase terrific fall projects that you can recreate and put your own artistic touches on in your craft room. You have seen a lot of these designers featured on sites like Tattered Angels, 7 Gypsies and and Canvas Corp Brands! Do you see a trend? This is the  CCB Fall Blog HOP! Each of these designers have created a project to share with you on their blog. Some are offering prizes, so please hop on through to each blog. If you are inspired would you be so kind as to share the hop with others? We would truly appreciate it!

I am sharing with you a banner I created:

I found a CCB banner kit in my stash that I thought would be perfect for Halloween:
I used the black and white polka dot paper from the kit as a template to create the pieces. I first cut out the smaller piece and traced it 1/4 inch larger on different substrates as a backing:
I misted each piece with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and set them aside to dry:
I used the Halloween Kraft pack to create the smaller pieces of the banner:
I found some wonderful  images from the mini art fall paper pack that I painted with glimmer mist. I loved playing on this paper because it was such a beautifully strong substrate that withstood a lot of water. I waited for everything to dry and assembled the banner. I cut a few canvas strips to sew on to the top of each piece to hang from the rope provided in the kit. To finish it off I found gold chipboard letters that are probably over a decade old in my stash to spell out “SPOOKY”.

I am giving away a small goodie bag filled with handmade (by me) cards, ATCs and supplies to one lucky winner. All you need to do is subscribe to my blog and leave a comment stating your favorite thing about fall. I will announce a winner on this post OCTOBER 5 2018!
Please make sure you hop on through to the next blog in the list:

Expo Blog Hop!

Two fabulous blog hops in one week?!?!?! Say what?!?!?! Yep! This has been such a fun week for me. I love partcipating and seeing other artist’ blogs! Today’s blog hop is brought to you by gorgeous trim by Expo based out of Canada! Oh my goodness you guys! I just wanted to hoard this trim. It is so very pretty!

Before we get to the trim, first check out the canvas I made to use as the focal point:

The corners needed to be addressed. Or should I say “dressed” and that is just what I did!

I used fabric glue to adhere each row of trim to the canvas. It turned out just darling and perfect for my purple wall in my craft room! I am going to alter an apron next with the trim.
