Bad Bad Girl Couture

A longtime favorite paper crafting subscription club on mine has recently changed directions and are discontinuing all their kits. I took advantage and purchased a few for 50% off. Bad Girls Couture created the edgiest vintage kits around. This is what I did with a couple of them.

For this page I used a stencil by Prima and Nuvo mouse to give it some texture. Layering was a big part of the success of it all. The little ribbon trim with gems was one of my favorite things included in the kit.

The same techniques were used to create this layout. The leaf is my favorite element on the page.

By incorporating simple techniques creating stunning pages is easy.

Layout Round Up!

One of my goals for 2018 has been to catch up on my scrap booking. I have been scrap booking since 1990 and up until 2012 I was not behind. In 2012 I got a job outside of the home and it just went to the back burner. I was still taking pictures and my collection of them were growing. I got back into my craft room in 2014, but my focus was on mixed media and card making. I seemed to have lost my mojo for scrap booking, though it is one of the most important things I do for my family — memory keeping. I think part of the problem was scrap booking was not “in” anymore. So, this year I decided to focus once again on memory making. I am happy to say that I have made a dent in my photos and possibly could catch up in the near future! Here are a few recent pages I have created:

They are an odd assortment of themes, but I scrap when inspired 😉

Major Fun Comic Book Mini Album

One of my favorite things in the December 2017 Bad Girls Couture Kit is the mini album! It is comic book images on scalloped pages. I had a few pictures of my son who is currently obsessed with Jurassic Park and basketball. We took a trip to Universal Studios and the Wax Museum in Hollywood two summers ago. I have been waiting for the perfect place to document them in and this little album was it! The kit came with cool little black pockets and white tags to journal on as well as fun colorful clips! I used ink to color the title to match and make it pop! Here is a flip through of the album:

I think it is perfect for a teenage boy!

Birthday Girl Yay!

Have you played with modeling paste recently? In a recent Bad Girls Couture Kit a large container of it was included and I had a little fun with it! To create this layout I used everything from the kit!

I added three strands of ribbon to give the layout texture without adding bulk. I even cheated and only tucked the ribbon into the edges as to not use it all up.

I used the stencil in the kit to create fun triangles with the modeling paste. After I lifted the stencil I sprinkled glitter on the wet paste. I set it aside to dry. Once it was dry I sprinkled the excess glitter and went over it with a soft bristled brush.

I had so much fun creating the layout of my daughter’s 15th Birthday. I mixed up my title and the whole thing came together beautifully!

How to Make Glittered Titles!

One of the things I like about white titles is how easy it is to add colored glitter to them to make them match a project. I really wanted to amp up and create a bright fun layout with my son and I. he is bright and fun so a layout needs to reflect that, right?

All the supplies I used are from Bad Girls Couture and the adhesive from Supertite (You can actually take 10% off any order over $5 with coupon code: Supertite-Golden).

I used the Dual Tip Max-Glue Pen to adhere the glitter to the letters.

I like it because not only is it clear, it also has a nice tip with a comb to move the adhesive around.

I applied my adhesive to the title:

I sprinkled a generous layer of glitter on the wet adhesive.

Once the title was covered I went in with the flat side of a craft spatula and pressed the glitter down.

I applied another layer of glitter and let it dry.

I simply removed the title once it was dry and applied to my layout.

I really like that with this technique I could glitter different words in my title different colors!
