Up Close Art Selfie

Drawing is one of the most challenging things in the art world for me. That is why I am a huge fan of Rita Barakat’s stencils! I have used them on everything from paper to ceramics. Once you get the trace marks down you can pretty much add whatever you want to it to make your drawing unique.

Another thing I like to do with them is just focus on one area of the stencil on a smaller substrate. For this project I created a selfie of my favorite feature.

I used liquid glass (Glossy Accents) on the eye and stickles through out the hair. A the base of the hair color burst was added! And, yes, I defidently exaggerated my hair color. I do have red undertones thanks to my stylists, but this is art so I really amped that up!

Challenge

Here is your challenge: create an up close art selfie. Pick your favorite feature and create it without a photograph. You can use a photgraph as a reference, but don’t use the photograph as your selfie. Once you create it upload it in the Rise and Shine group with Rita Barakat. The challenge is open through the month of July! Make sure you tag me so I can see. On August 1 I will pick one winner to send a few goodies too 😉

Until next time ~ Happy Crafting!
