I have not always been a fan of the stencil. In fact, when I first saw them over two decades ago I did not like them. I only thought that they were used to trace with our throw paint on. When I did both they ended up looking horrible. It has only been in the last two years that I have discovered how awesome a stencil really is! I recently created my three favorite cards using one stencil by Ranger. Check it out here.

This was the first card I created with the stencil. Isn’t it cute and a little different? I wanted to create a sunset sky in warm colors. I just blended ink to create this scene making sure to tuck the sun into the mountain. The image is from this stamp set. I stamped it, colored it in, cut it out and pop dotted it on the front of the card.

For my next card, I just used the grass and clouds from the stencil. I stamped the palm tree and car full of critters and added them to the front. I used the same stamp set for the sentiment and embossed it in Fossilized Amber Distress Glaze.

THIS is my favorite card. I combined the stencil with this stamp set to create a Birthday card for the softball player. I really had fun with this one. It is awesome that Simon created a pony tail to add to the head of this image. It can either be a boy or girl. I was slightly scared of the fence, but once I stamped it I liked how it added just what this card needed.

Which is your favorite? Tell me in the comments and I might send it to you 🙂

Until next time ~ Happy Crafting!
